This beautiful valley is bounded north and south by two sides of the Niagara Escarpment, with Cootes Paradise wetlands on the east and conservation lands to the west. Dundas boasts a proximity to the area's natural wonders and a shopping area that combines sophistication with a welcome small-town feeling. It remains one of the most desirable areas in Hamilton to raise a family.

Strolling through the main street of Dundas allows visitors to truly appreciate its unique charm. From the ambiance of many historical locations, to quaint restaurants, and a host of specialty shops, Dundas has small town charm while still being nestled within a big city.

Among its many gems, Dundas is home to a highly regarded independent art school, the Dundas Valley School of Art which dates back more than 40 years. It offers part-time programs to residents of all ages and full-time programs to area high school students and post-grad students from other universities.

Of other cultural significance, The Dundas Valley Historical Society promotes awareness of local history and the Dundas Museum & Archives highlights the stories of people and events that have shaped this beautiful valley town. There is also an old Carnegie Library on the main strip in town, that has since been converted to an art gallery for the public to enjoy.

Dundas is also home to two of the most popular waterfalls in the city, Websters Falls and Tews Falls. Visitors can hike the Bruce Trail from either of these locations to The Dundas Peak, which provides a stunning vantage point over Dundas and West Hamilton. This stretch of the Bruce Trail is undoubtedly one of the best hiking locations in the greater Hamilton area, and one of the most visited parts of Dundas.
