Hamilton East - Royal LePage State Realty Brokerage

This part of Hamilton, east of Kenilworth, lies below the Escarpment and straddles Red Hill Creek. For many years the Red Hill Valley was pure parkland and is now home to the Red Hill Expressway, a major north-south corridor which connects the QEW to the Lincoln Alexander Expressway and the 403.

The area is home to two major shopping centres; The Centre on Barton, is a Big Box Shopping district, and Eastgate Mall along the Centennial Parkway. There are also lots of other large retail locations located along Highway 8, as well as many boutique shops scattered throughout the district.  Lots of restaurants can also be found here, with a mix of chains and locally owned spots. In addition to several grocery stores, specialty food shops such as Lococo’s and Starsky’s provide lots of quality products.

Recreation in this area is bisected by Red Hill Creek, which still maintains numerous parks (Rosedale, King's Forest, Laurier, and Hillcrest) and a lengthy walking trail. There are several arenas and local pools, both indoor and outdoor. Along the waterfront is Globe Park with its Museum of Science and Technology.

We couldn’t discuss Hamilton’s east end without mentioning the Hamilton Beachfront along the shores of Lake Ontario. It is a well-known destination among Hamilton residents that boasts fun and excitement the whole family can enjoy. Along with a trail right at the water’s edge, it is also home to Confederation Park, Adventure Village, and Wild Water Works. Stay for lunch or dinner at long-standing Hamilton institutions, Hutches or Baranga's on the Beach, and enjoy the beautiful view of Hamilton’s waterfront.
